My Brief Conversation With God

A few months ago I was in the bath tub coming down from an LSD trip, and suddenly God appeared before me. The Big Capital “G” God. Definitely a masculine God. The Judeo/Christian one I think. Here’s how it went:

God: HOW CAN ANYONE DENY THE EXISTENCE OF GOD!

Me: Whoa, where did you come from? Yes, you certainly exist!

God: FEEL MY POWER! FEEL MY STRENGTH!

Me: I feel it! I feel it!

God: YOU MUST FOLLOW ME! THERE IS NO OTHER!

Me: Uh no, I know that’s not true. I’ve already met Shakti. I belong to her now.

And then he was gone.

No judgement to those of you who believe in and follow this God. If he works for you, that’s great! He’s just not my type. But many of my friends and family do follow this God, and he seems to be working out well for most of them.

My God gives unconditional love to all who see her and does not ask for a vow of loyalty in return. She does not punish people for being bad. Instead, she fills you with love, so you will be a good person on your own. She is the Divine Feminine and goes by many different names. But I call her Shakti.

Edit: Apologies in advance if anyone is offended by my cultural appropriation. I don’t identify as Hindu, and acknowledge that my version of Shakti might not be the same as the Hindu Shakti. It might have been better if I had chosen another name, but Shakti is the one that works best for me.
